City Market at Daley Plaza - 50 W Washington St, Chicago, IL 60602
The city of Chicago's flagship market takes place in Daley Plaza from May through October. Every Thursday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., the City Market at Daley Plaza offers a dazzling variety of local foods in the heart of the Loop. That includes an abundance of fresh produce as well as cheeses, baked goods, preserves, hot sauce and more. This market is also a great place to find potted houseplants and garden plants this season.
Maxwell Street Market - 800 S Desplaines St, Chicago, IL 60607
A stone's throw from the University of Illinois on Chicago's Near West Side, the vibrant Maxwell Street Market has been one of the best places to find fresh fruits, vegetables and other local foods for more than 100 years. The market began as an informal gathering of street vendors in the 19th century and was officially recognized by the city in 1912. Today, the market takes place on Sundays from May to October on the corner of Desplaines and Polk Streets.
Evergreen Park Farmers Market - 8900 S Kedzie Ave, Evergreen Park, IL 60805
Taking place in the South Chicago suburb of Evergreen Park, the weekly Evergreen Park Farmers Market returns on May 2 this year for the 2024 season. The market takes place on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Yukich Fields until the end of October. Expect a variety of goods from local farmers and growers, including garden plants as well as fresh veggies, fruit, dairy products, honey and more.
Logan Square Farmers Market - 3025-3113 W Logan Blvd, Chicago, IL 60647
Voted the best farmers market in the city by Chicago Reader in 2023, the Logan Square Farmers Market is returning for the new season starting on Sunday, May 12. This market is a staple of the Logan Square, and has been operating every Sunday during the warmer months since 2005. You'll find a great selection of whatever produce happens to be in season here and a broad variety of other local handmade goods.
La Grange Farmers Market - La Grange Rd, La Grange, IL 60525
About 22 minutes west of Downtown Chicago, the suburb of La Grange hosts its own excellent farmers market on Thursdays from May to October. In front of the Village Hall at the corner of La Grange Rd and Harris Ave, the La Grange Farmers Market includes a great selection of produce and plants from local farmers, as well as goods ranging from freshly baked bread to locally roasted coffee.
95th Street Farmers Market - 1827 W 95th St, Chicago, IL 60643
The 95th Street Farmers Market takes place in Beverly, a charming suburb just east of Evergreen Park and 20 minutes south of Downtown Chicago. You'll find fresh produce, locally raised meats and an array of artisanal products of all kinds here every Sunday from May through the last weekend of October. The 95th Street Farmers Market is open from 8 am to 1 pm, rain or shine, with goods that change with the seasons.
