Chicagoland Fireworks Displays 2024

Chicagoland Fireworks Displays 2024

You can't have the Fourth of July without fireworks. It's as American as baseball and hot dogs — two things we happen to be experts in here in Chicagoland — and you can bet that our real estate agents will be out watching the sky over the city this July Fourth. The city and its many suburbs will host multiple festivals and events throughout the week of Independence Day, so you'll have no shortage of opportunities to take in a stunning fireworks display. Below are just a few of the upcoming celebrations.

Blue Island Fourth of July Parade - 13200 Irving Ave, Blue Island, IL 60406

A beloved local tradition that originally ran for 150 years, the Blue Island Fourth of July Parade is returning this year after being absent for nearly two decades. It's expected to be a huge event. The parade will get underway around noon on the 4th, following a course through the Blue Island historic business district. The endpoint of the parade is Waterfall Park, where there will be a tremendous fireworks show at 9 p.m.

Taste of Oak Brook 2024 - 700 Oak Brook Rd, Oak Brook, IL 60523

One of Chicago's western suburbs, the village of Oak Brook, will be hosting its annual Taste of Oak Brook festival on Wednesday, July 3rd this year. It's just as much a food festival as a Fourth of July celebration, featuring samples from some of Oak Brook's best restaurants. There will also be games and live entertainment. The festivities get underway at 4 p.m., and the day will be capped off with a colorful display of fireworks at dusk.

Summer Fireworks at Navy Pier - 600 E Grand Ave, Chicago, IL 60611

Arguably Chicago's most famous venue for fireworks, Navy Pier won't be putting on a show on the Fourth of July. That's because this iconic spot in the centrally-located Streeterville neighborhood already has fireworks scheduled for July 3rd and 6th. These displays are part of their regularly scheduled Summer Fireworks series, which includes fireworks over Lake Michigan every Wednesday at 9 p.m. and every Saturday at 10 p.m. between Memorial Day and Labor Day. So even though it's not technically on the Fourth of July, you still won't want to miss it!

Evanston Fourth of July - 1647 Sheridan Rd, Evanston, IL 60201

One of the biggest and best Independence Day parties in Chicagoland is the annual Evanston Fourth of July Parade & Celebrations. Located on the lakefront just 30 minutes north of the Loop, Evanston hosts a massive fireworks display at Dawes Park around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 4th. The fireworks are the grand finale to a full day of festivities, including a Fourth of July fun run, morning games and activities, the parade and an evening concert.

Hawthorn Woods Fireworks - 5 Park View Ln, Hawthorn Woods, IL 60047

Located a short drive northwest of Chicago, the village of Hawthorn Woods is set to put on a brilliant fireworks display on the evening of July 3rd. The celebration takes place at Hawthorn Community Park, which opens for the day at 3 p.m. There will be food trucks and live music in the evening, followed by fireworks at 9:15. Feel free to bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs! The Hawthorn Woods Fireworks are free for all to see, but the park charges a $25 parking fee for the event.
